Backplates for D1-4 Lathes

Backplates allow the mounting of collet chucks or alternative lathe chucks.

These backplates are designed to fit D1-4 camlock chuck mounting lathes.

Pre-machined to suit standard chucks.

Choice of different diameters

• 160mm (Item No. 5429) - 130mm register and 142mm PCD

• 200mm (Item No. 5430) - 130mm register and 142mm PCD

Backplate fitting

Backplates are supplied machined to fit the appropriate lathe spindle.

For maximum versatility the other side is soft and machinable. This may be required to suit your particular application. This is a straightforward procedure:

Collet chucks

• Backplates are ideal for mounting a collet chuck to a lathe.

• Collet chucks available in ER25, ER32 or 5C size here.

WM 290V note

• There are two versions of the WM 290V lathe.
• The most recent model numbered 2900D has a D1-4 fitment, so this is the compatible backplate. This version of the lathe was sold from 2022 onwards.
• The previous version of the WM 290V was numbered 2900. This is not D1-4 - the backplate for that model can be found here.

Postage and packaging within mainland UK is free for orders over £50 for the majority of orders, with the following exceptions:

• Machinery weighing 500kg or more - delivery price varies according to size, weight and location; subject to quote.
• Spare parts - minimum delivery charge is £4.50.
• Stands or trays ordered without a machine - delivery price is £50, but there's no extra charge if ordered at the same time as a machine.
• Used machinery - delivery price varies according to size, weight and location.
• For orders under £50 - UK mainland delivery is £6.50.
